A classmate and I started talking about cars today. I told him what I have and what I've done to my truck, and he has a bone stock 2012 civic si sedan, and we got on the subject of who would be faster. I would think even though I weigh more, I have almost twice the HP and twice the torque, but he thinks because he weighs less, his torque would get more use. I told him I'd at least beat him 0-60 and possibly further, but he thinks that he'd still win the 1/4 mile.

What do you guys think? Who would win and in what aspects/races? I'd like realistic responses, not just "you'd win because honda sucks" (which is a realistic truth lol), but what would actually probably happen with my heavier truck with the mods I have (check my signature) vs his stock si sedan. Thanks all!

Well if he gets his oil/gas ratio correctly in that thing he might stand a chance but it should be a good race. Those 5.3's are stout to begin with.:laughing1:

I ran the 1/4 with basically the same mods,(LT's w/ no cats, corsa sport, e fans, spectre intake, vette servo, bb 93 octane tune, djm full suspension) only thing that hurt me was I had my much heavier 22's on. Took out the spare/jack, tow hitch, and the back seats with about 1/4 tank of gas. Best run was a 15.656 @ 88 mph.

A stock civic si can squeak into the 14's on a good run, but will come down almost entirely on the driver. Should definitely be close races, but the civic traps about 93-94 so it should beat you on the top end. Your tahoe will be much more consistent though.

Races will probably be won on the reaction times. Some tips, on a pro tree leave as soon as you see yellow, sportsman tree leave on the third yellow. Hold your foot on the gas a bit on the launch, try to leave at around 2k rpm's. Try to use good quality gas, and race on a low tank to save some weight..every gallon is about 6-7 pounds. Tow/haul mode should help you a bit as well and have heard some people saying racing in 3 instead of D is better..but not 100% sure on that. I also seemed to run slightly better with the headlight in front of the CAI removed, but some people will debate that.

Really wish I didn't live in a cold weather state...this really has me anxious to go drag racing...

Thanks for the opinions! I'm looking forward to more! I told him it would be a close race at least, which he didn't seem to believe. I know the Tahoe isn't a race car, but for it's size and weight they haul pretty good ass, even stock. I think he has the disorder where it's the fastest car he's ever driven, so it must be the fastest car ever made. A lot of people seem to have that when trying to drive fast and you handle them lol, especially in what they think is a big slow SUV.

One day, when the engine gives out, I may drop in a 6.0 LQ9 with a cam, and eventually supercharge (or maybe turbo, just to be different cuz everyone seems to supercharge). Being a broke student isn't ideal for heavy modding like that lol
