I have a 1996 tahoe that i just had the transmission rebuilt at a shop which i fear may be a shade tree mech. it is the 4l60e i believe. any way the mechanic said he was upgrading parts such as the sun shell to the beast and hp bands , whole nine yards. well the day after i picked it up i noticed that the tahoe has a bad vibration that becomes noticable above 2000 rpm and gets worse as rpm goes up. it is rpm related not speed. it can be in park and as you increase the rpm the vibration gets worse. has anyone had this happen? was wondering if i could have gotten an out of balance torque converter, or even if the mech could have damaged the flywheel in the r&r process. I was thinking i could unbolt the converter bolts to effectively separate the engine from the transmission to verify the vibration is infact in the tranny. What are your opinions on this?
