Yeah you’ll want to use a heat gun. I got mine from HF and it worked fine

Ended up getting pre-cuts for the window trim.. if it goes well I'd like to try the same on other things like the fog surrounds, luggage rails, and doors trim.

Been waiting for the weather to warm up and salt-spray to end before going to town on the trim with some dishsoap. Spring is in the air though, won't be long.

I went with the roll and sheet stuff for areas wider than 2in. Use a plastic razor blade. Ask me how I know.

sorry for the late response, but i rarely got on here. i did it all with the help of a buddy. its cheap enough and if you mess up, just redo it. using a plastic razor blade and its pretty easy. just go slow, and you'll probably need to budget for a few extra pieces at first until you get comfortable.

I bought the 3m product on Amazon 1080 it's called. Supposed to be one of the best products. I put this on all the chrome in my 335 coverable and has held up for years. Was fairly easy to apply just put on with tape and some heat. I'd be a bit wary of eBay product only because the time it takes to apply you wouldn't want to have to do it again.

Avery Dennison is a very good brand of vinyl as well.

Another option would be to go full OEM and get the window trim from an RST model Tahoe or Suburban. It’s a bit more expensive of course, about $550-$600 in parts, but it’s also a permanent solution.

I actually looked up these part numbers just earlier this week and they are in fact still available. At one point a few months ago they were out of stock.
