I want to have remote start for days in Florida when it's hot and have the car cool down before I get in it. Which viper or aftermarket alarm can do this?

Also does the AC already have to be on when the vehicle is turned off and started with the remote start?

Or will viper start the AC when remote started?

For those that have them installed. What was the cost to have it installed?

99-02 has the mechanical A/C. 03-06 has the digital controls. I have never used the digital, so not sure if those need to be turned on every time you start, or if they will hold function like the mechanical controls. What year is your SUV? If its 03-06, does the AC come on automatically? If not I would think you would have to find a remote start with an additional button/sensor option and then wire it in to the controls. Mechanical will just come on when the vehicle is started if you left them on when you got out.

05 and yeah it has the auto feature but you still have to turn it on.

I remember my parents had a remote start on their 2007 Duramax Silverado and it had a temperature sensor that would adjust to what temp the outside was. Never really looked into how it worked.

Hence what I was trying to duplicate. But for the exactly 2 "cold" days in Florida a year I wasn't really worried about the heater part
