Whats up everybody? Just started having troubles with my Viper alarm/remote start. My remote start. When i press it on my remote it wont start. It seems to send in error to the truck. The lights blink 3 times i think and the bing in the cab also goes off 3 times. Anyone have similar troubles or advice on where to start trouble shooting?

Did you access any of the programming menus before this problem started?
I would first try the manual transmission mode steps (Page 29 in the owners manual) to see if it didn't get accidentally knocked into manual mode. I know that zone 3 is doors for the alarm trigger mode, but I don't know if it uses the same for the remote start portion.
If the steps on page 29 work, then you need to change it back to auto mode. If page 29 does not work, you could temporarily disconnect the hood pin and/or the brake wire. Ground on the hood pin or 12V on the brake wire will prevent the remote start from activating. However, if it was the hoodpin, you would know it at arm/disarm.

Thanks for the info Omar! I will have to check it out. But i have not accesed any of thebprogram menus. Dont know how actually. And the alarm funtion seems to be fine too.
Clean, i would take it in but im 3 hours from where it was installed, makes it a bit harder. If i get back there soon i will take it in for sure

I took it to a franchise place. They have 3 or 4 stores where I had it installed. Dont know if they are anywhere else in the country though. Would any place that does Viper do them? I guess it wouldnt matter, cause thats still 3 hours away lol.
Well the remote start is up and running again. I didnt do anything though. Truck seemed to be running rough when it wasnt working and now its running great. Does the system not start if it sees something is wrong with the engine?
