So driving to work at 4 a.m. I feel a drop of water on my hand thats on the steering wheel. I don't pay it much mind and figure I'm still half asleep or i'm crazy. Two minutes later there it is again another drop. Now I know I'm not crazy. I pull over to investigate and lo and behold the area around where the sunvisor bracket comes through the headliner is is wet and dripping! Took it right into the dealer when they opened. Thankfully I have a very good relationship with them and they took me ahead of everyone. Upon investigation they find that the leak is from the XM antenna. Supposedly according to my dealer G.M. knows about this problem? Anyone heard of this? They orderd a new antenna and in the meantime used silicone rubber to seal under the antenna.
What upsets me was seeing the headliner dropped, grab handle, sunvisor etc. It looked horrible. I had visions of 10 years ago when I had a water leak in a brand new 2004 Avalanche that G.M. couldn't fix that was bought back under the lemon law. The aggravation that I went through was unbelievable. They tried to fix it over and over and gave me a run around for about 6 months before I contacted the BBB.

This is becoming a common issue it appears. You are not the only one on this forum with the exact problem.

Good job GM!

Now I don't feel so bad. The Avalanche leak was common also. Guess i just don't have any luck. i'm a die hard Chevy guy but I'm starting to think differently. Thank God I have an awesome dealer.
And the funny thing is after the Avalanche fiasco my son took the money and bought a new 2005 GTO that developed a water leak that was pretty common also. You can't make this stuff up. Then when trying to fix it the tech working on the car broke a piece of trim that went from the door sill around and into the back seat area. When they replaced that, he picks up the car then gets an airbag light before he drives off the dealers lot. They could never fix the airbag light after many tries so one day after they shut the light off for the umpteenth time he drives to another Pontiac dealer and trades it in for a 2006!

It just hit me. No wonder my windows fog up all the time. Must be the water in the truck. What a dumb-ss I am.

I had a leak from my onstar antenna too at around 750 miles. They replaced it and no problems since. I complained on my survey and they sent my a $1,000.00 coupon to use for any GM accessories.
