So I drove about 200 miles on the highway for the first time since I bought this truck. At 65 mph on up it makes an air buffeting noise inside the cabin with all the windows up and sunroof closed. I thought it was just me but my wife also noticed it. If you vent the sunroof it stops. I also noticed when you vent the sunroof air comes out of the ac vents harder. You can also feel the pressure change in your ears when you close the sunroof and vent it. I don't know what to do but it is really annoying

Well I pulled the drivers side rear plastic corner piece off right above the taillight to check the pressure release vent and of course broke it

First nice tahoe. Mine is the same year, color, and wheels. I do not have this problem but the vent you are looking at would be the first thing I would go to.

Thank you. Well now I need a new one of those vents because I broke on in two pieces and half of it fell down in behind where the taillight goes. Do you know if there are any more of those vents anywhere?

The pressure changing is normal. However, the buffeting is not. You must have a failed seal somewhere, where in the cabin are you hearing the noise?

I have a noise in one of my Impalas with a sunroof. My noise sounds like a helicopter flying right above me.

I can't figure out what it is or what is making the noise. It is very annoying too.

The Suburban and Tahoe, I have no similar noises.

Hey there Sheriff!

Happy to hear you aren't experiencing issues with your Suburban and Tahoe! I'd like to figure out the Impala issue with you, and hopefully find a resolution. If you could email me more details (VIN, mileage, contact info) at [email protected] with "ATTN Marissa" we can put our heads together.

Hey Keith!

Have you had the opportunity to have someone take a look at your vehicle? I would recommend speaking with one of our GM Certified Techs, and checking out http://www.gmpartsdirect.com. I agree with Ben, post some pictures when you get the time!

I broke the air pressure release valve is what I believe its called. It's behind the plastic piece that wraps around between the very back window on the side and the back hatch glass. There are vents behind those pieces that are supposed to release pressure in the cabin like when you shut a door or anytime there is too much pressure in the cabin. I may replace the door seals because I know the drivers side one on the bottom is cracked.

I also noticed when driving behind a tractor trailer that was going through a regen cycle (which smells pretty rough) you could smell it in the cabin even with the air on inside air. I know in my truck if you turn it on inside air you don't get any outside smells.
