Have you used the HF alot? Is it holding up?I have a 450 amp one from Harbor Freight and it started my Denali just fine from a dead battery. I would think the 1000 amp unit would be plenty.
Yah, so far. I've had it for 2 years and no issues.Have you used the HF alot? Is it holding up?
Yes, they have a built in charging circuit but I don’t think it’s necessary to keep it charging all the time. The lithium ion battery in even my oldest one (6 years old now) holds its charge well enough that I’ve never not had it show full bars when checked, and lithium batteries also don’t last as long when kept fully charged. I keep the oldest one in the trunk of our Infiniti and just used it for the first time in 2 years a couple of weeks ago to start the car after it had been sitting for a few weeks. Still had plenty of juice to start the car and it’s only a 250 amp one.Can these things be left connected to a 12V source at all times to stay charged? I know some batteries need to be cycled but maybe these booster packs have logic to disconnect from the charging source when not needed and if the voltage at the charging source drops below X volts.
I'd like to keep it in my jack compartment and run a power source in there to charge it, but not if I'll need to remember to disconnect and reconnect it periodically.
Beat the **** out of it all day. Zero issues.
Except I suspect its fuel pump time. It nosed over when my fuel got low. Same thing it does on e85.
In regard to your signature, I am honored to "war" for Christ and since America allows all faith's to worship freely it makes sense to "war" to protect that freedom.I was thinking the 1500 personally

Mine started doing this a while back, but was fine if kept at 1/4 tank or above. I thought the bucket filler thing wasn't working or the bucket leaked. After replacing the complete pump assembly, I stared it up to back out the shop and saw my gauge was suddenly a lot lower than when I pulled it into the shop. I think the level sensor was faulty and I was actually on fumes when I thought I had 1/8 tank.
I've cycled it plenty since the new pump. On a road trip to Texas that would burn at least one full tank, I monitored the MPG, gallons needed to fill to 1/4-, 1/2-, 3/4- and full tank and estimated gallons in the tank. It was pretty close. It also hasn't sputtered at hard throttle when the gauge read low fuel level any more.
One more degree of confirmation: I tested the level sensor impedance. It performed as it should until around the 1/4 tank area, then went to open circuit.
How do you like the feel of that Truetrac compared to the stock LSD when it was still working?
That’s awesome! I’ve been thinking that when my gov- bomb goes I’ll get a Detroit Trutrack locker but I’ve always been concerned I’ll **** it up. Maybe I have a chance after all!Success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No noise, no binding just silky smooth. Took me almost as long as my engine swap, but I am glad I took my time and learned to do it correctly. If I had to do it again, I could get it done in a few hours.
Can anyone recommend jumper cables? The 8 gauge ones from walmart didn't work. They have thicker ones, would that be worth it?
