New to the site and new to Chevy. I bought a 4x4 2007 Tahoe LS used and it came with 22 inch wheels with 305/40R22 tires. I don't mind the look but they do me no good in the winter. I've been cruising ebay for some 17 inch factory wheels. My questions are:

What year wheels will fit mine?
What was the original tire size and how big can I go stock?

You'll want a 6 X 5.5" (139.7MM) bolt pattern. IIRC the stock backspacing is 5.75" and the wheel center bore is 78mm.

Get some with about 5" of BS if you want a little bit better stance.

If you look on your driver's door jamb, there will be a tag listing the tire size and tire pressures for you.
