I'd be curious to hear from owners who have tuned their truck...

i have a Black bear tune. Although power is increased, mpg is minimial gains. 1-2 if that. Not enough to make a huge difference

But who really wants to do 55 on the highway?

I think my average speed is 85. Anything below 65 and I'm so angry I'm trying to figure out how to split lanes.

K&N and exhaust will bump it a touch, I get about 1-1.5mpg more with both of those.

55 is painfully slow. Its feels like moped speeds on the highway

Or Prius speeds.

I've noticed that the concave area on the rear end of a Prius, looks like it would perfectly fit my front end. I fantasize about ramming them nearly every day.

Took a Pic o' my DIC...whoa...to prove 21.4mpg. NJ-thru DE-to-MD with cruise on 60mph the whole way. Got 20.5 last weekend, but can always count on 18 at least. City - that's another story. If I see a red light a block up I coast to it. The brake is not your mpg friend! LOL It's as gooda' mpg as my Cherokee and a heck-of-a lot more comfortable.

I went from southern Wisconsin to central Florida a few years back on vaca, and avaraged a little over 18MPG, that was right after a tune up, and I'm guessing a good tail wind both directions! I would love to get my milage up to around 20MPG without driving like I'm 90 years old! Next mod will be the e-fans, hope that will help a bit.

I have an '04 Yukon XL. When I bought it the mpg indicator said about the same as the op. 14.3. since I bought it in June, I have installed an AEM CIA, electric fans and a mild Blackbear tune. I drive almost 100 miles each day and 70% of that is highway or roads with 60mph speed limits or greater. On a recent trip from Texas to Ohio with 5 people and suitcases to match, my avg mpg was just under 22. Daily my avg (if I don't hit stopped traffic for more than a few minutes at a time) is usually in the low to mid 18's.

If I have to sit in traffic then it goes waaaaay down lol.

I would recommend all three of those to anyone. The fans and harnesses were right at $250, assuming self installation. But you have to have the tune first. the CIA was $260. the tune itself was $250 when they came to Fort Worth. You can send your PCM in and just get the fan setup turned on for $50 last time I checked if you don't want a tune.........but who doesn't want a tune?????!?!?! haha

SNowBuck said it rite... The brake is ur enemy... If you want to really watch ur fuel eco set up a vacum gauge so you can watch it while you drive... the more vacum the better cost to light try and time it with the light turning green. Oh or you could stare at the instant fuel eco but it does get depressing when you barely touch the gas and it dropps to 8mpg...

my .02 cents
