Wasn’t today but, I got rear ended. Luckily for me he hit the hitch and just cracked the bumper near the opening for the hitch. And the paint damage. Oh, and the person driving was a 19 year old kid going to work at a dealership to fix the brakes, which also was a “friends car”. And by friend as in a side job with the only contact info was through snap chat. Oh and his insurance was not current. Oh and also he had a suspended license that he didn’t know about. Oh and the person that just bought the car also didn’t have insurance.

if that VW has a loan go after the lien holder.. they will have insurance to cover it( and will force them to pay for it the person who bought the car )

if it's paid off you will have to seize control of the title of the VW and have it sold at auction o pay for your damages

this is why I put a hitch on my SUV provides a a bit of extra protection or at least will cause catastrophic damage to the person that hits you

it will punch a hole threw the front end hopefully making contact with their engine block rending it useless

CHP or cops don't care about the hitch(they can't do anything about it since it's a pickup truck chassis GMT900 series and not a passenger car, only passenger cars it's illegal)

CVC Section 28071 Passenger Vehicle Bumper Requirements
last time i checked Tahoe is running a body on frame pickup chassis GMT900

34710. As used in this division, "passenger vehicle" means any motor vehicle defined in Section 465, except any of the following motor vehicles:

(a) Motorcycles.

(b) Housecars.

(c) Specially constructed vehicles.

(d) Motor vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive.

(e) Motor vehicles constructed on a truck chassis.

Stops People from tailgating I noticed less tailgating me after installing mine..

they can nail you on the crossover type SUV/car unless you got 4x4(not AWD= passenger car)

Get a dashcam

After getting to destination and noticing damage, review footage and find out what happenend. Most of todays cams have GPS co-ordinates and time/date on the footage.

2001 Yukon SLT
2012 Yukon Denali XL
2011 Yukon Denali RIP 5/20/18
I have a dashcam, and it always runs, Its just not worth it to pull the footage. There's no damage, the corners wouldn't pop out if the fender liners weren't already haggard. Bumpers been wacked on embankments from previous owner offroading it so hard up on logging roads hunting elk. Gonna have to get creative with some zip ties or maybe get new fender liners to fix the issue.

None taken! You wouldn't be able to see them. I think I'd only need them on the passenger side and you wouldn't be able to see them. At least its better than the self tappers the PO used. Just ran two of them from the fender liner to the lip on the bumper cover. Farmers man.

I wasn't referring to you with the comment, just struck me as funny lol. I used to drive 200 miles a day--100 miles each way for work, and I've had to use zip ties, duct tape, plastic bags, even a piece of garden hose to get me where I had to go. Once I even used those plastic zip tie handcuffs that cops use, to hold up my exhaust! Lol, lasted 80 miles til they melted through and the complete exhaust ripped off!!

Well after getting the new tires installed on the wheels i was finally able to get them installed

The old ones where 295’s. The new ones are 305’s. It really made a difference. Truck rides so much better

What size are you running? I'm on stock 275/55/20 but will be going to 305/50/20 in a couple weeks.
