did you do it on level ground, I only ask cause it doesn't look like level ground in that pic?
Yes, it was level, but my phone was tilted. That spot was angled very slightly towards the front, but was level from left to right. My driveway isn't level and I can see how my rear axle is slightly tilted so that's a no go for ALC.

I don't think a full tank matters too much, it should compensate for it.

Yours might be good, I can tell mine was harsh over small bumps, more of a rattle than normal suspension damping.

had it towed to the dealer this morning they replaced the rear u-joint and said the front one was good (there main tech did it), then I had the wheels balanced and it is 80% better, but not quite there yet. you can still feel some vibration cruising and at 110 it kicks in a lot that's as high as I took it, called the driveline shop to see about having it balanced they can get it done Wednesday he said the drivelines are balanced with the original u-joints that are epoxied in and changing them can cause some issue, but that could just be a song & dance I don't know but i'm going to give it a shot and see what happens if worse comes to worse I can have a dorman overnighted for AM Thursday if I get the order in on time otherwise Friday which gives me a 1 day delay on leaving.
I am going to go jack it up and take look at it just for my own curiosity.

mine does seem to ride OK, or OK to me over wash board roads but I have nothing but stiff suspension cars with small side walls to compare it too. mine also has the so called no coat option of 17in wheels and tires with more sidewall instead of the normally 20s for a Denali. I just can't help but think mine rides higher in the back now then when I got it and all I did was tow a trailer 2k miles lol. I didn't measure it before thou. so possibly in me head?

I do have the specs to measure the factory ride hight but it's just like gm they can't give a simple fender well to ground spec, it's gotta be under it on a lift measure this suspension part to that suspension part with a special tool lol. I honestly thought that was a corvette only thing lol

blah.

glad yours worked thou. next time I fill this thing up, I think I'm going to redo it just for the heck of it.

I hope the balancing works. I have hopes the balancers are better now than when I went thru it.

the autos always hide a lot of the vibration, the manuals have the shifter bolted stright into the rear of the tranny you can feel every little thing in your right hand. so if you can feel anything at all, it's probably more than enough to be bad, even at a 100 lol.

most people that drive the speed limit might not even notice it as it is now but really hard to say I can tell the difference but I "think" I am more tuned in with my vehicle because of the way I drive and at 110 it kicks in a lot like it was when picked it up the other day.

poking around online it appears that a balance could solve or it could be something still isn't quite kosher, u-joint not centered properly or bound up or even a needle bearing laying inside one. I will have the driveline shop check all that, which they probably already know lol

very well could. be a centering thing.

I just always figured heating it up ebout to press the nylon or epoxy whatever out or these days with impacts so strong just hammering on the the big c clamp looking press tweaks the ears or something.

I think you're right, most people wouldn't notice it, but also. if that was a younger tech, I bet he's never. changed u joints in that dealer before. they kinda just don't fail like they used to. when I was first under mine I yanked on it and didn't see any play. I'm not touching it till it falls out. or at least I hope I see or feel the vibration before it falls out haha.

funny I did finally throw a drive shaft on that old car. next to a buddy 3rd gear on the spray hopping the front end up like kids dumb will do with their first kit, it tore one of those thin straps and came out the rear yoke. made a hell of a noise, damaged the floor board and got caught up above the torque arm and the floor board. showering my friends behind me in needle bearings. didn't make it to the races that night haha.

Order the Dorman shaft anyway, you can always send it back if not needed
