Replaced the two coolant connectors and associated hoses this morning. Leak started on that trip to NY. View attachment 403373
Took a while to find that very very slow drip which I think was coming from the black connector.
Only had three hours before we had to leave for a 4th of July party. Easy job right? But took every minute of that three hours tools out to tools put away. Couldn’t get the black connector off until I took my tree loppers and cut the side nipple so I could rotate it to get to the tabs.

I am at 139k now. Drove it 45k since I bought it two years ago with only a few minor repairs like this.
Hope everyone had a great 4th!
that's why I tell people to just cut them off from the get go, your not going to re-use them and saves the hassles of fighting with them

what do you cut? the part running to the rear heat? I'm guessing up close to the T itself so you don't damage the end of the rear pipe?

We moved out of town this year because of the rapid development going on where I lived. I was concerned that my pyro tendencies would bother the new neighbors. I needn't have worried. After I finished with my typical 30ish mortar volley, my neighbor pulled a utility trailer into his front yard, donned a fire suit and proceeded to fire a 20-minute strait salvo of mortars in 3-4 shell combinations that would rival the New Year's celebration in any major city. It must've cost thousands. Yeah, I came to the right place.

I wish I could do something like that, but too much overkill and the cops would show up for sure, regardless it was a war zone last night around here as usual
3 or 4 years ago someone on the other side of town had mounted launchers to sheets of plywood and had lined the street with them, not sure if they got lit off or not but the cops took them and made a big deal about on the news like it was some big drug bust.

you just cut the thin plastic part where the clip is holding it on, takes a little work it's just plastic, but not like spending an hour trying to get the stupid clip loose and getting nowhere, unless your doing something crazy then you wont hurt the aluminum pipe inside
