This may be a dumb question to some but I just don't know; but how and/or when do the puddle lights come on?? I have never seen mine on at all.

When you unlock the doors and it's dark enough outside for the lights to come on

Is there something I need to play with in the DIC to get it to work? I know know there's an approach lighting and an exit lighting. But I have never messed with it because I really didn't know what it was

It should work when the approach lighting is on, it's dark and you unlock the doors. The exit lighting keeps the reverse lights & headlights on for whatever amount of time you set it to.
