actually...it is better known as *Traction Control*...there you go :)

Actually traction control just prevents the tires from spinning. StabiliTrak is something diffrent. StabiliTrak keeps the vehicle under control using the angle of the steering wheel throttle position speed of the vehicle are all in consideration with StabiliTrak to keep the vehicle from spinning out.

good point lightning...just trying to find something it was close to....

so its a smarter version of traction control..all the systems work together to control and regain traction to all wheels for a safe driving experience...

I know exactly what it does..I've got it on my AWD Denali...just harder to explain in words...always turn mine off when I start my truck ;)

ITs stability control and traction control in one word. Stabilitrak. get it. OK good. You have AWD what do you expect. No burn outs in awd. Hell I cant even break free anymore in my silverado with 100% TQ management removed and a super light rear end. IN rain I can all the time, but not when its dry. Yukon can break free in the rain with traction off, and even in the dry with traction off I can get a chirp.

I feel no sympathy. He's a dumbass. His driving skills and IQ are equally lacking.

02Lightning nailed the Stabilitrak explaination. The ABS module and traction control are employed to keep you from ending up like the douche in the video.

You needs lots of torque and a good tune to have fun in an awd. Mine finally walks the ass out wot in first but it didn't even come close when it was stock, even with shit tires. I'd honestly drive around with stabilitrak off especially since you live in the desert. Here is a good explanation of how the system functions (makes me happy since I have the king shit awd tcase :bleh: )
