What is a decent price for a 2000 Z71 1st gen

Hello all, there's a 00 Z71 locally for sale this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180491740134&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT . The seller wants 7k for it which I think is too much, for that price I would try for an 01-03. What should I offer?

I was thinking 5k max, for what ever reason, dealers in the Chicagoland area still want a lot of money for 1st gens.
