So what is the benefit to running a bullydog tuner as opposed to a custom tune?

A custom tune is specific to your vehicle's power characteristics and is made real time via a dyno or laptop while you are driving to get real time data.

Tuners carry canned tunes with very general settings for the masses---lots of room to tweak.

Hey thanks. I know all that lol and already have a blackbear tune and love it. But this guy seems to be determined to buy a bully dog tuner for twice the price. I'm curious if there is any benefit to it... Lol.

The pre programed tuners are crap. Get a custom tune if you want to unlock everything you can out of your vehicle while still being safe.

Im open for any tuner that I can input everything that I have added to it, like a Cold air system with a cooler after the turbo, a K&N cold air filter. New pulse plugs that ignite .09 seconds sooner than regular plugs. Installed a new thcker fuel rare so the gas if when needed at this points where you punch it to get my boat out of the water. I just need help. I have 23" 305/40/23 I can change. I just need to know would a guy who installed all these extra's be able to work a a tuner?? Thank for your help

A tuning software like HPTuners takes years to master. Even when you are a really good mechanic (and you should have a solid knowledge base before you start) it still takes a while. Some basics are quickly grasped like trans shift speeds, basic idle control, wheel tire sizes etc, but as you dive deeper into air and fueling control, the learning curve gets steep really fast.
