what is this unknow black box under my dash?

I'm in the process of wiring up a new stereo and removing all of this extra wires that some one originally tap off the stock stereo, and I cam across this mystery box. It has 9 wires coming out of it and it was tucked back behind the glove box, on top of the heater/ac core box. at first i thought that it was some kind of alarm. but it has 2 wires that connect a pink/black wire out of the ecu. it also has what looks like a small buzzer or something at the end of another wire. 2 other wires went some were under the floor boards near the 4x4 selector. another one went into the drivers side door. one to ground and not sure about the others. any ideas?? and what is the pink/black wire coming out of the ecu for??

The pink/black wire should be 12v ignition feed to the engine module. My first guess would be some lockout device that would block a function unless some specific is done first like hitting a button, or a device that overides something by doing the same. If you can follow the other wires it should be easy to tell what it does.

it looks to me like you or someone before you bought it from a buy here pay here lot and its a gps box so they can find their car.
