What head light bulbs are being used in the non hid equipped tahoes. In other words what are you using as a replacement bulb.

In the 07-14 I used Piaa super whites or extremes.

There's a lot out here about this, so take a look around. I'm using the Sylvania 9005 SilverStar zXe bulbs and I think they are an enormous improvement over OEM for $40 and 10 minutes to drop in. People tell me they only last about 18 months. Mine have been in for 3.

Did you have any issues installing them?

I had the dealer install piaa super whites and zxe's in the high beams and the dealer had a lot of difficulty getting in right. They could not get the bulb to seat right in the housing.

I'm currently using the Silver Star Ultras in the high beams, do you think the zxe is better in brightness ?

No issues at all. It's a standard H11 housing and dropped right in.

I'm a longtime SilverStar Ultra user.

Bottom line: they are a waste of money. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, they do NOT have more lumen output than the stock bulbs. I thought they were better because they were "whiter", but that came with a cost of less actual lumen output. The blue striping used on the bulbs to color it actually blocks light, thereby lowering the lumen output.

There appears to be multiple positions to install the light bulbs. I ve had this problem with the 3 15's I have bought.

Guys... this thread is like a throwback to 2002. LED all the way. Cheap, easy install and results are awesome.

That's the answer I was looking for, my conclusion exactly.
