What sparkplugs are you guys using.

Hey fellas I'm about to do a tune up on my XL. Just wondering if you guys recommend any other spark plugs other than oem. Thanks in advance.

i run ngk in everything. no real reason besides i can buy them more readily in a store. ive also never had any issues in anything ive ever run them in. i typically steer clear of bosch and motorcraft.

I belong to a couple GMT800 groups, and the consensus is either go AC Delco (OEM) or NGK. Definitely do not go Bosch. For some reason the LS motors don't run well on Bosch.

AC Delco or NGK. Whichever ones you get, be sure they are legitimate. If they're half-priced on Amazon or ebay, they're likely counterfeit and of very poor quality. I got a set of NGK off ebay since they were a good price, the seller had good ratings and he posted high quality pics of the actual plugs and their boxes for sale. You have to know what you're looking at, but you can spot the counterfeits if you compare them to the legit ones.

I have seen those "half priced" ones on ebay. Was always skeptical of ordering plugs on line and have never done it. Get them from a auto store so you know what your getting is the real deal.

Yes. It's a bigger issue than most know about. The same goes for many other parts. Considering that spark plugs are something you'll likely replace only once under your ownership of the vehicle, is it really worth the risk to save a couple of bucks? You're screwing something into your engine that will be in direct contact with the very core of where all the magic happens. That $20 you saved could cost you thousands.
