Just put a 2/3 mcgaughys on my wifes 08 tahoe and now its wheel/tire time. I'm gonna go with 24s but I'd like to get her as much sidewall and less rubbage as possible (i know thats a semi-oxymoron). My experience is its usually the width of the tire that will rub sometimes more so than the height. So with that said I've been looking at the 285/40/24s over the typical 305/35s just because it gives you just a tad beefier sidewall althought almost negligle.

So with that said guys running a 2/3 what size tire are you going with on 24s or if you don't have 24s post up your tire specs (ill do that width/height math) and your rubbing issues along with wheel offset if you got it.

I know most rubbing can be solved by a little trimming but I'd prefer not to. Also on these trucks is there a quick speedo fix for the slightly larger in diameter tires?

Will 305/35/24 or 285/40/24 rub with a 2/3 spindle drop on an '08? I really don't wanna go 295/35. I know its only .3" smaller but every bit helps with my wife driving

305/35 R24 will rub, but the 295/35 R24 should be just fine wityh little to no rubbing. That is the most common size tire guys are running with that drop.

The 295 will be your best bet, if not, I would say get the 305 tires because the 285s are too tall, which means bad rubbing.
