What year trans is interchangeable with with a 1999 Tahoe

I have a 1999 straight axle tahoe we are messing with and it needs a new trans. its a 5.7 vortec with a 4l60e. What years are interchangeable with the 99? We are going to just throw a used one in to get it back driving and send it down the road.. is it any 96-98 truck, 96-99 tahoe/burban, or what? Everyone is giving us different answers...Im thinking there should be some years blazers and jimmys that have the same trans..any help would be great..thanks!

I don't know exactly the years. You definitely need one from a 96-99, but you might be stuck with 98-99 tahoe/suburban and 98 pickups.

I'm guessing you need an 4l60e with the autotrac 4wd?

likely 98-99 where it should have the exact same bell housing down to the matching of holes and converter size.
