It's been almost exactly a year since ive had it and I don't think it's gotten any louder. Why would it?

Ive had flowmasters on a couple different rides and they always get louder in time. Just curious, thanks.

yea my magnaflow and my flowmaster 50 got louder of time. i mean it was noticeable... ( i think its the "breakin period") i do alot of highway driveing and the guy that welded it in said it would get louder faster if you highway drive cuz its a constant airflow through it. not just stop the air go with the air... so yea i noticed mine got louder. cant really notice it on the highway. but i noticed it in the city traffic.

My Flowmasters have all gotten not only louder with time but also deeper with more rumble. That deeper and low rumble is why I like Flowmasters so much. With the Burb, though, I may go a different route cuz the wifey isn't a fan of the drone although I don't mind it as much

I know I am not going to be very popular with my answer but honest to God... I find nothing wrong with the stock exhaust. I really think a stock 350 from GM with a modified exhaust sounds just like its worded. Sure I sometimes wish it had just a bit more exhaust note to it but, with a stock exhaust I have never worried about it falling off, had to modify anything to "make it work," and have no problem blending in with every day Joe Schmoes when I need to.

Its almost become common place to do what every Fox body Mustang owner did in the 80's and early 90's. Put some loud hopped up exhaust on it to let everyone think it was fast when in all reality... its still stock and didnt pick up hardly any noticeable horse power. In fact, might have actually lost some to be honest. I had a 1972 Chevell with a 555 Big Block on spray and it actually dropped off (consistently) without mufflers compared to with mufflers. It liked the back pressure provided by my hugely restrictive (or so it seemed) Dynomax UltraFlow RV mufflers. LOL

Don't get me wrong... not knocking anyone for going the route of the aftermarket exhaust world and I know my truck will never be a "hot rod." Thats what the thing parked in the garage is for. Hehehe. But, my vote and opinion will be for stock exhaust unless there is something done to the mill to warrant letting it be a little throatier. The last exhaust system I modified was back in 2004 on my 03 Chevy Blazer Xtreme... but it had a modified 4.3 with a ProCharger on it and some other stuff so it was far from stock. Everything I have owned since, my dually, my Yuk, and my Trailblazer SS have remained factory installed.

I just had a friend last week that has a 2000 Tahoe and her exhaust was a Cherry Bomb and it sounded like HELL! Could hear her a mile away and it sound like poopy. Welp, what happened? The exhaust fell off the truck and she replaced it with a 40 series Flowmaster. Well, it calmed it down but it still to obnoxious for my taste.

So you... its all about personal preference at this point and the best advice anyone has given here, is to check out YouTube and hear different options and pick the one you like best.

Good luck and sorry for my ranting. LOL

Good post Johnny! :Handshake:

I agree with everything you said. I personally just like the sound as, like you said, you're not going to be up any noticeable HP especially with a stock powerplant :)
