I'm five days new to my 2002 Yukon XL SLT, and love it so far.
When I start it up, some sort of electric motor rattles away right over my head (driver's side front.), and stays on for a 2-5 minutes.
What is it?
If I reach up and push on the little thumb size "speaker" grill over the driver's head, the sound changes as if some electric motor isn't properly mounted behind the headliner.
Could it he the auto-ride compressor? In the *roof*?
Hints: The sound doesn't change with either heater fan speed. The sound stops 2-5 minutes after start up. I have no sunroof IF I turn the key off, it winds slowly to a stop (in a few seconds) as if it has some momentum. This is an SLT with tow package, onStar, and 152K miles.
Thanks for any wisdom.
(and any other advise as I leave tomorrow hauling five adults and a large dog through 2,000 miles of Oregon and North Idaho)
