Searched and didn't find a thread that answered my question so I thought I'd ask.
I changed out the brake pads on "the *****" a few weeks ago and when I got the caliper back on the rotor I spun it to make sure everything was cool and I heard a very, very faint tinking sound. Hard to describe but it was about once per rev of the hub and barely audible.
Checked clearances and nothing on the rotor or caliper was hitting or moving. Thought it might be a warped rotor but after watching it spin I don't see any wobble and there isn't any vibration in the steering. I do hear a hear and feel a slight popping noise sometimes when I turn or hit a bump but I attribute that to the intermediate steering shaft problem that is so common in these trucks.
I put the wheel back on and checked for play and there was absolutely none so I don't think the hub is going out but I don't know for sure. It's exactly the same on both sides so maybe it's nothing. I know that these trucks are kinda bad about wearing out hubs. Does anyone have any idea what it might be?
