wheel question for a noob

Hello all my name is Stuart, I'm a first time Tahoe owner, got an 04 LT with 79K miles. It has the stock 16" wheels on it. I have been looking at just about every possible GM wheel that could fit from 17"-20" and I am concerned with sacraficing the ride for the look. I have found 18" that I reallly like. I am thinking about buying, but I have a couple questions first.

How much is the ride going to suffer?

How much is the gas milage going to suffer?

How much harder will it be on the braking setup and will I have to swap out for a larger kit, or run what's on it.

I have 5 hour trips to the northwoods of Wisconsin, and also will be pulling a boat/jet skis around........

What are your thoughts?

I went to 22's from 16 and my ride didnt change except it turns better as the rims are now wider.

The ride on my factory 20s is better than on the factory 16s with their donuts.

Thanks! I'll post up when I get them! Only gonna be summer wheels, the winters here are hard as hell on vehicles! Salt sucks!

Hey guys, if I went with the 18" OEM silverado wheels it says they have an offset of 31mm, does this mean they will stick out further than my stock 16" OEM wheels or stick out past the flares?

I am just so undecided. I actually like the OEM hm wheels. I have found a set of the 18" silverados for about 400, but I have also found as et of Chrome OEM wheels (from newer flex fuel model tahoes, is what the add says) for about $750. I think they Chrome would hold up better than the 18" oem silverado, but I like the spoke pattern of the cheaper ones better. for the price I could probably get both and run 18" all the time and scrap the 16" until I upgrade down the road....

What are your thoughts guys?
