When to replace shocks????

I have a 08 tahoe non autoride lowered 2/3 belltech kit. It's got a lil over 100k, pretty sure it's still got stock shocks all around. I don't known how tell when they need replacing. Besides when they bottom out which mine don't, and even some suggestions on good shocks. Gracias amigos.

Generally it is said to replace your shocks around 50k miles. You can sometimes also tell by the way your tires wear....you can get uneven or bumpy wear which indicates the shock is not functioning properly.....

Visual inspection. Check if they are Leaking or wet around the tube. There isnt really a set time or mileage. You can feel it too when a shock goes. Noisy over bumps, and sloppy steering or truck is all over the place when you hit a bump.

If they are stock and have a 100k on them..... then def replace.

no. I am lowered and have 87k. I dont feel the need to replace. Tires are even wear, not leaking and not over the place when hitting bumps. You can look into beltec struts that made for lowering.
