OK, first my 01 Yukon is running great. For some reason it's losing coolant and I don't know where. About once a week I add about a half a quart of coolant to the resevoir. There is no puddle under the car. I have looked all around for a leaking hose. None. I have looked at the water pump but don't see any leaking there. Could the water pump be leaking only when it is running throwing coolant as I drive. As I said there a re no puddles under the car.

Have you checked your oil to see if it's in there? If it is you most likely have a head gasket issue.

 Have you noticed any amount of smoke coming from your tailpipe? I think it would be a greyish in color if it was coolant.

It could be your overflow tank. I have seen those go bad over time. I would take it and have the coolant system pressure checked.

I think you might be right about the coolant tank. I filled the tank to about where the tank is pieced together today. I did not drive the car but when I checked it tonight I did have a puddle under the car and the tank was down to the base. There must be some sort of small leak in the bottom of the tank. I'll pull it off this weekend and check. Is ther any sort of sealant I can apply or spray on the leak or am I in fo a new tank?

If it is bad enough that it is leaking out of the tank when cold or sitting then I believe you are in for a tank. If I am not mistaken they sell the tank and cap seperately and together, depending on where you get it you may be looking for between $100-150 or so to replace it. I would be affraid of putting anything on it to seal the tank for fear of something I used getting into the coolant system and messing something else up.
