Hello all, long time reader, first time post. I have a 2000 Yuk XL with the 5.3L. Of the Magnaflow mufflers which one is most used for my application? I like the aggressive sound but dont want it to be to loud. And yes I have read all the other muffler threads, that is what convinced me to buy something other then a Dynomax.. So hit me with a size and part number.

Thanks to all of you for the great post's and insight.

I ended up with a MF #12289. Sounds great, I am pleased. Now onto the next mod...

14 inch long muffler will give you good sound, it will also be the loudest besides a bullet muffler. Maybe a 16 " would be better. If it ends up being to loud you can always weld in a resonator.

dont want to create a new thread for this stupid question so i'll do it here. u NNBS guys with the displacement motors, do you have any issues or ****** sound coming from aftermarket exhaust when it goes into 4 banger mode? depending on if my wife gets pregnant again or not, we might be tradinng the tundra for another SUV and we'll get a NNBS to go with the NBS and thats my only concern since i think it shoudl be illegal to leave that ugly stock exhaust on those trucks haha. just dont want to have a 4 cylinder sound tho

I only notice the V4 mode on the highway, and to me it isn't that bad.

Felix has a Magnaflow muffler and SLP tips and has said it's not too bad. I hope get exhaust by the end of summer or early Fall as well.

The muffler case is 24" in length. The sound is great, not loud at all and disappears on the freeway until you pull out to pass. Then it gets after it. BTW doing the vette servo with a transmission service on Monday. Cant wait. Maybe I will mod the air box this weekend? Thanks for the help.

Yea I got the 22" wide body for a nice deep sound, didn't want anything too loud. And correction, I have the better stainless steel version of the SLP Tips that volant makes called the Volant Super Tips. :Handshake:

No issues when going V8 - V4 or vice versa. I don't know what all those people are talking about. I cut the resonator off, put after market tips (welded on), and welded on a different magnaflow muffler and it sounds great 100% of the time.

14" muffler is going to be loud as shit. The smaller the muffler the louder it is.
