Taking in my 2008 Yukon Denali to get the torque converter replaced. they are going to replace the torque converter swap out the trans fluid etc. while they've already got the transmission off I was going to have them go ahead and drop the pan and replace the filter and clean that all up too.
is there anything else I should have them look at look for or do while they're already going to be elbow deep into my truck in that area? I'm getting ready to roll over 111,000 miles.

Inspect the slip yokes, lube the splines, check the u-joints. Has the transfer case and front and rear diff fluids been changed? Check to make sure the rear main seal on the engine is not leaking, if it is, this is the time to do it.

Why is the converter being replaced?

I just had my TC and flexplate replaced in January and I am SUUUUPER pissed that I didnt think of it, nor did my mechanic suggest it: replace the rear main seal.

So angry.

I hear u guys on the rear main. Trying to do maintenance both needed and preventative. Also trying to keep low budget right now lol. Awkward balance of the two.

I just had a trans rebuilt in a 08 Denali XL. I had them do the rear main with the plate, oil pressure switch and oil pan gasket. I wish I would have had them do the oil pick up tube. In my opinion all of those need replaced while the trans and oil pan are out.
