Whining noise in the radio

Hey whats up. Just wondering if anyone out there encountered any type of problem with a sligjt whining noise coming from the radio. i really cant narrow it down as to when it does it but is pretty annoying. It doesnt do it all the time either. I have an 2008 LTZ. Thanks

done any radio mods? if so you might have a ground loop, they make a part for it, its either called a ground loop isolator or a ground loop filter, I forget.

Do you happen to have a lockpick installed? The wiring might cause the whining

I have a slight annoying whine from there too but I have no audio/video mods whatsoever?

I have a whine on mine as well and mine is completely stock. Mine occurs when I using the cd player with the engine running, it goes away when I shut the engine off. The radio and aux do not have the whine. Also I have the 6 disc changer Bose system (no NAV).

i have the bose nav and yes i have the lockpick but that shouldnt do it i wouldnt think

What you are hearing is the alternator humming in the sound system. That is a ground loop... the only way to stop it is to find the loop, I have no idea which ground is causing your problems.

You can read this for a better explination, and follow links on different remedies. But a stock veichle should not have these problems.

I agree with NoChrome, but, I also realized that my lockpicks harness wires were quite loose and would cause the whining. I taped them up tight and now I don't have that issue.
It worked for me maybe it'll work for you.
