Hello,

New to the Forums, tried searching and couldnt find an old thread.

I have a '09 Tahoe XFE with 60k miles, for a few weeks now it has been making a ticking or clicking noise from the engine area. Today however it has gotten worse and it is now emitting white smoke upon initial start up. I am unsure exactly of what the issue is, but suspect a valve, piston, etc is allowing unwanted fluid to burn. Has anyone experienced this issue? At 60k miles does this mean I got a CPO lemon?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Most of the time
White smoke= water intake gasket
Blue smoke= burning oil
Black smoke= to much fuel rich mixture

09XFEOC,

Is the ticking noise constant or only on startup? I suspect a valve issue, just a suggestion not a diagnosis. I encourage you to have a certified technician inspect the vehicle.

Please keep us posted.
