Who has gone up to 20's?

04 Denali...thinking about going up to a set of 20's but worried about the ride...thoughts?

In my experience, I noticed a negative effect to steering and handling but not really a negative effect from the reduction in tire sidewall...if that makes sense. My steering response feels more "go-cart" like than before...with the heavier wheels and wider tires I feel more slack and seem to do more correction to keep the vehicle in my lane than before. The more uneven the road surface, the more noticeable it is. I have had my entire front suspension inspected for worn components but everything checks out ok so short of ugrading from the OE components, I don't think there is much I can do to improve this. Having said all that, I wouldn't go back to 16's or 17's because I get a lot of pleasure out of driving my truck with with the improved appearance of 20's.

I had them on the truck from about 4 months after I got it and I'm a fan. I couldn't imagine driving with OE 16s. My ride is pretty firm but that's more because my truck is lowered so much.

the 20's increase the looks of an already beautiful truck IMO and seem to me to be the perfect size between looks/performance and comfort

with that said, the ride is def better with stockers

+1. When I purchased, I had OEM 16" inch rims but a total OFF Brand All Terrain Tire on it. So when I switched to the 20" inch Denali wheels with the Bridgestone Duelers, the improvement in ride quality was enormeous and the truck was not as loud at Highway Speeds. I will alwas run with 20's, as it is for me the perfect size for looks as well as all around use.

You will never see me with 24's or 26's with rubber bands as tires around them, as I like to go off the pavement and that does not work well with bigger rims and less rubber.

I prefer the ride with the 20's over the stock 16's until the road gets really bad. When it gets really bad, you can definitely feel a difference. Can't tell you exactly, but you can almost feel the extra weight at each corner. Don't get me wrong, it isn't terrible, and definitely worth it for the looks and enhanced handling over the stockers.
Driving down the highway (which is where mine is 90% of the time) it feels almost indistinguishable from stock.
