Well they look identical on the truck.

The thing I like about the G5s is the plug and play aspect.

The thing I like about the oem ones is that they undoubtably use better quality leds, but most importantly their fitment is much better ... especially in regards to clearing the liftgate. Most G4s/G5s have to be pushed outwards when screwed in tight or else the edge of the liftgate will rub against the plastic. This slightly affects the other gapping tween the bodywork and the lamps. This seems to be more of an issue with power liftgates than the manual ones.

Price is about the same ... I got my oem ones for $300 (including harnesses) and had Robbie modify them for me combining them with my stock harnesses.

G5's fit perfectly, and I mean perfectly. The only issue I had as opposed to real Esky tails is the butchery required no matter what. They just don't "plug in" even with custom harnesses. The only other thing if it matters to you is the "grey box". It's not a resistor package, it's a flasher of some type that is actually pretty loud when the signals are on. There is no "out of sync" issue with turn signals no matter what you do, so I sold the real Esky tails I had before installing them for a small profit and bought these. After 6 months, I have no regrets.
