Why does my blower take many minutes before turning on?

'03 Yukon XL...

Did some searching/reading and see that the blower resister is a known problem for GM trucks. A few months back, my blower started taking a (varying) number of minutes to come on after each car start. Does not matter whether it is AC or heater, the fan simply doesn't kick in. This can sometimes be 5 or more minutes. If the blower is on and I turn the car off and then immediately re-start, I once again have to wait a number of minutes.

I don't believe this is expected behavior as it never did this in the past. Any leads on whether this is the resistor, the motor itself, or something else altogether?

Thanks!

find the connector on the blower motor if its getting 12v power while its not working then most likely there is a short in the blower motor
