I have always been told to run the same size tires on the front and rear of a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I was wondering if it would affect anything to run 285/35 on the front and a 295/35 on the rear. According to Nitto's specs, we are only talking about 0.200" difference in diameter. Thoughts?

No one?

I understand there can be issues while using 4wd, but what about in 2wd? The difference would not be much different than having brand new tires on the rear and used tires on the front.

out of my own curiosity, why do you want to do that, especially if its only a minor difference?

I was thinking about running these. Not sure about 22 or 24. But with the 24s I could run a little wider tire and help fill up the wheel wells a little more.

I hate how the rear wheels sit in compared to the front wheels. I am about ready to either lift it or order some extra spindles and mill them down a little to bring the wheels in some.

I figure I can mill .100-.125" off the mounting surface of the wheels. From what I can see about .200-.250" off of the spindle where the hub mounts and then the same amount where the calipers mount. Everything should line up and it will move the wheels in .300-.375" or 8.4-9.5mm. Run a little narrower tire on the front and make a small spacer for the rear and the wheels will line up with the fenders better.
