Hey everyone,

I’m kinda torn and need some help!

I want my stance to be a little wider, showing the tires a bit but don’t know what to do. I have factory 18s on my 2016 LT with 265/65r18s.

Can I do a wider tire? Are there wider tires? Or do I need to do a wheel with a slight negative offset. I saw a bunch of pictures on here of tahoes with rims pushing the tire out a little, but don’t know which offset to pick for about 1” out. If I do new rims I’m going with 20’s to still have the aggressive looking sidewall.

Can ya all help me? Just want her a little wider!

Thanks everyone,

spacers is your cheapest route. Otherwise you'll need new wheels.

You could go up to a 285/60R18 and gain almost 1” in tire width and keep overall diameter pretty close.

This website is kind of handy when looking at different tire size options.

Thanks everyone,

To go outward 1", you'd need 2" wider tires. You don't wanna go 2" wider than stock on a stock wheel. If you're fine with your current wheel and tire setup and just want a wider stance, get spacers. Be sure to get hub-centric. You might have to get wider spacers than 1" to not have to trim off any or as much of the studs. I had 1.5" spacers on my '08 and just had to trim off some of the unthreaded tip. If you decide you want new wheels and tires, then you can order them accordingly for a wider stance.

If you have the tires protruding 1 inch beyond the wheel wells, you will be slinging road debris onto the sides of your truck, and that will eventually damage the painted surfaces.

With a 20" wheel with an OEM offset, you could probably run 305/50x20 tires with no spacers and no rubbing. This tire is only 0.5" taller than your stock tire.
