So this past winter i was having a stalling problem with my 02 tahoe with the 5.3l flex fuel. So i started throwing money at it replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, IAC Valve, pcv valve, engine coolant sensor and more but i cant remember. Anyway this past week the stalling has came back but it's not so much stalling its like the rpms drop almost to 0 and it catches, jerks a little and then does fine until it tries to stall again. One thing I've noticed when it does try to stall is the engine is about half way warmed up and the engine temp guage will drop to 0 or 160 whatever the cold temp is and thats when the engine tries to stall but before it will completely stall the gauge will go back up to about 190-200 degree and the engine will run fine. Today i was going to fill her up first start up of the day and it didn't want to start so i let it sit for a few second and then tried again and it startes but a puff of dark black smoke shot out the tail pipe and it idled rough for about 10 seconds. I just want to drive something i dont have to worry about getting t ***** at an intersection because it stalled.
