Some of you may know, but we bought a set of OEM Escalade tail lamps for her Burban (actually bought two sets, one is for sale).

That turned into me scoring one hell of a deal for the Escalade 3rd brake light (thanks sumo!!).

That turned into a trip to V-led.com. Picked up 4 6ohm 50w resistors, the fancy shmancy mounting plate for them, the LED reverse bulbs, and LED tag light bulbs.

Got 2 new tail light harnesses en route so we don't have to hack her factory harness to get the escalade lamps to work.

Now I am on a quest for the escalade appliques that go above the tail lights and that will be done and over with.

I'll post up pics over the next 2 weeks or so as I tear into this project.

UPDATE:

Still trying to convince her to do a light smoke on the tails and 3rd brake light to tone down all the red, but she isn't crazy about that.

UPDATE 9/24/11:

Sooo... alot has changed from the original post. We sold the Asanti's, got 24" 3pc Intros, Wilwood discs on all four corners, Escalade Rear tails, third brake light, 09+LTZ Moldings, Escalade roof rack, Headrest DVD/TVs, 09+ Escalade mirrors, 4300k HIDs in the lowers and fogs, and replaced all the exterior lighting with LEDs from V-LEDS.com. Been an expensive 4 months, but well worth the funds spent!

If you guys have facebook, friend ELITE ROADS in Fort Lauderdale, FL, there are supposedly some high resolution shots of the Burban there. :secret:

Final pics (more to come once the weather clears up):

What mounting plate are you talking about for the resistors? I didn't get any when I bought mine :(

Sorta. I'll splice into the new harness and the escalade harness so that yes, if I want to switch back it will be entirely plug and play. But the modded harness still needs to be done.

Should I be selling these plug and play harnesses now? Lol.

V-led.com sells aluminum mounting plates. I bought them to mount the resistors on. Maybe it was unnecessary, I dunno, but I liked the look of it.

The write-ups I have read appear to be extremely easy. Should take 30 minutes per side to do,if that.

Here is what I got and the quantities... I think the total was $113 shipped. We might swap the front DRL's, Turn signals, puddle lamps, and foglamps to LED as well and do a very modest HID setup. We'll see...
