Wild Country question

Hi all. I bought a new to me 2005 Tahoe today but I won't be able to pick it up until later in the week. I got it from an out of state dealer. Anyway the dealer said he put new tires on it and in the pictures I can see they are Wild Country Radial XRT tires. I did some Googling but couldn't find much info about them. I've been lurking here and researching while I was looking for a Tahoe so I thought if anyone could give me the low down on the tires it would be you guys.

First off, welcome tothe forum ans congrats on the new truck. Got any pictures and details about the Tahoe?

The Dealer most likely put some cheap tires on it in order to be able to say the vehicle does have new tires.

I purchased my previous '06 Yukon from a dealer and it had some real cheap Korean tires on it.

That's kind of what I was afraid of. Maybe I can pull them off and sell them on Craigslist. What's a good tire for mostly street use with good snow traction? I used to like the Revo's but from what I read the Revo 2 isn't a very good tire.

I checked Craigslist at the time and got a set of Denali rims with tires from a nnbs (new, new body style) which came off the Denali as the new owner upgraded to 24" inch wheels. Those had Bridgestone Duelers on them with a couple of hundred miles.

Unfortunately, being located in Northern CA, I can not help you with snow tire performance.

My tires of choice are either BFG all terrains or Goodyear duratracs. I have had the BFG's on several vehicles and have never been disappointed. They give excellent traction in all conditions and have great tread wear. I frequent highways, dirt roads, mountain roads, snow, and mud. The set of duratracs I've had were great as well. Absolutely fantastic in the snow! But they did cost more and the tread wear was not as good but still nothing to complain about.

How many miles are on it and what did you pay?

This truck looks awesome and very clean. A set of cheap tires is only a very minor detail which can easily be fixed.

Thanks for the info. It seems like the BFG's have been around forever but it's good know they are still a quality tire. Are you talking about the AT KO's?

One owner 47,000 miles with a great service history. Paid a little over $15,000 which seemed like a pretty good deal. WY truck too so no rust which is a nice little bonus.

I'll probably plan on swapping out the tires sooner rather than later. Hopefully I can get a couple of hundred for them on Craigslist if they have less than 1k miles on them.
