New user name forgot my old one.
On to my 98 2 door 5.7

Got in the truck this morning and started just fine. pull on the road everything is fine til I hit 200rpm and the engine just lags and stumbles. i end up getting up by grannying it all the way. it still shifts. When i got home i put the truck in nuetral and it revs just fine.

Im lost! any ideas? maybe torque converter or some sort of shift accuator?
Help!?!?!?!?

yes it happened in all gears. was really bad up hill. curiosity was killing me so i took it for another spin. climbed a hill and it was legging badly. got to the top and started costing down. gave it a couple pumps of the throttle to see if the downholl had the same effect. heard something like a valve opening and closing and the truck lost power and would not start just crank and crank. must be the fuel pump cause now when i turn my ignition to the on position it doesnt whine or prime like it used to. i think i'll try the filter and relay first but damn the pumps are spendy

you have a 1998 unit so just stick a pressure gauge on the test port on top of the engine first. you may or may not need a new filter the gauge will help a lot more then you think.

it was the fuel pump. Ordered the delphi unit off amazon for my 2 door. A bit over 200 but well worth it
