will it work? Yes

will you see huge gains by paying for it on a heavy truck? IMHO, no.

LSX is LS based engines, LS1, LS2, LS3, 5.3 is an LS based engine.

IMHO, keep your stock intake, spend on heads, cam, l, etc...

for 1k I'd sock that away for a supercharger, the used market has plenty of good chargers from time to time around 2500...money MUCH better spent for hp gains. With those LT it's a match made in heaven

Take the advice you just recieved, as you won't notice enough gains to be worth the exorbitant money... these types of intakes are only worth it for someone making FAR more power than stock and mostly trying to do it naturally aspirated. Like from 400+ cubic inch builds or stock-ish cube builds with heavily worked heads/large cam turning 7k+ rpm as these intakes are large-runner and are made to be ported for very large flow. Flow and velocity are inter-linked... and a 400cfm intake on a NA street-motor isn't a good combination as you will suffer in the low-mid rpm range very bad, right where a truck needs it.

Save the $1k and put it towards a blower kit if you're looking for much more than stock power. You can't beat forced induction for huge power and still retaining stock driving manners.

If you do go with a NA high-power large cube combo, make sure you order the right intake... the engines of our era will have the LS1/2/6 "Cathedral" port intake runner. The newer ones will have the LS3 and L92/76 rectangular port heads. The LS7 is in a class of its on as no other factory small block head/intake matches it.

Being for a LS3... no its not a direct swap. Fast makes a Direct swap truck version of the Manifold. Being only a 5.3 you dont need anything remotely bigger then a 90mm throttle body. Thats if thats the route you wanna go.
