I'm replacing the front driver side window motor and am stuck on what to do. I have it all disassembled to the point where it looks like i need to undo 2 bolts on the inside of the door that are attached to the motor/regulator. any advice on this would be great! thank you!

Make sure the window is supported partially open then loosen the window clamp bolts remove the appropriate bolts holding in the regulator reach in and lift the side channels up about 1/2 an inch fold them together and wiggle them out of the door openings.Very easy once you have done it.Just reverse the removal procedure to install.do not over tighten the window clamps.

I tried to replace my passenger motor and got to a point where I felt like I was about to jack something up. So I stopped. need to get it done but I just know I will mess this up.

I just did this in my Yukon but I did the entire motor/regulator assembly. If asked, I'm happy to do a write-up. Hopefully that could help you guys where you are stuck.

Alex33... I'm stuck on the part where I am re-coiling the cable around the white reel. I cant seem to get the adjustment between the upper and lower cables right. If I get one end on, the other seems to hard to wrap up or too tight. I'm sorry for this poor description. I would love a write up or any pictures of this installation. Thank you!

If the cables came out, the regulator is ruined and you need to replace it. If you buy the GM part, it is a new design and now comes with the motor. You'll need to supply two 10mm nuts for it as well.

Too late now but I would have suggested replacing the whole motor/regulator assembly. So much easier and cost less than $50 on ebay for a dorman. I did my driver side regulator in about an hour with the help of a youtube video.

I know I promised some help in this thread but it's been a busy couple weeks. Anyway, I did want to share some pics that I took while replacing my regulator and motor assembly. In my situation, the cable and cover fed into the reel and would no longer back out. Here are some pics of what I found while it was disassembled.
