Hey all,

I am looking into possibly tinting my windshield on my 05 yukon xl mainly to cut down on sun/heat during the day and light glare at night. I have searched and read through a lot of posts regarding what everyone has done, however, I have not seen anyone comment on the darker tint affecting the auto light module on the front dash...unless I missed it.

I would think that 35% or darker would keep the auto lights on most of the time, except in real sunny conditions. Would 50% or the 3M crystalline 70% affect it at all?

I know a lot of you guys have the tint on the windshield, and wanted to get some feedback on this.

Thanks

Not at all, at least in my and my friends experience. I'm about to get 35% across my whole windshield with the 5% Visor strip. Go right ahead and get it tinted.

I have a 8"-5% strip on top and bottom, cockpit style, and it, slightly affects my auto headlights. they seem to come on faster in shaded areas and facing away from sun, sometimes. Not constantly, on/off tho, and I wouldn't worry about it. No biggie really, I keep an eye out for my headlights being on during day. I don't like em running unless it's dark personally, keep the ballasts lasting alittle longer. I should just eliminate auto all together??
