So for some dumb reason I decided to lift one of the wiper blades up further and it felt like something snapped. Now there is no tension holding it down against the windshield. The spring looks to be in place, but I’m not sure where whatever snapped to not place enough tension to hold it down against the windshield. Anyone have any input?

Put some WD-40 on the hinge on the wiper arm to ensure that nothing is binding in that area. If that does not resolve your issue, then buy a new wiper arm at RockAuto.com. The springs get weak over time, and a new wiper arm is cheap.
