wipers and windows not working?

i have a 99 escalade, the door panel has been off the driver door for almost a year now from previous owner. i dont know why but 90% of the time my power windows dont work, i noticed that when they dont work my windshield wipers dont as well, but the one time i jump in my truck and the windows work so do the wipers, whats going on here? i am replacing my door pins and id like to put my door panel on but i want to fix this issue. Thanks!

sounds like a short somewhere or maybe a loose connection/fuse

I'm still stumped on this. I ordered a new master switch and it worked for a couple days. Then stopped. So I did a warranty order on it and this time it never worked. I bypassed my ignition switch could this be a problem? I'm getting no wipers and windows.
