Been going through some steps to get Bluetooth on my 2004. Installed the aux adapter kit and then added a kinivo BT module. I know our CIG/aux outlets are hot all the time and I want to rewire one to RAP, so the BT won't drain my battery.

What are my options and how do I accomplish this as safely as possible?

I did a search, but Tapatalk sucks and my keywords must not be good enough.

Thanks.

I'd suggest grabbing a wire that's RAP, and using that to trigger a relay.

85 - ground
86 - RAP input
30 - cigarette lighter
87 - 12V constant

The knivio bluetooth is a good call, ive had mine for almost a year now which works perfectly and have done exactly what you want to do. What i used was an Add a circuit and then wired a new cig socket to the add a circuit i bought form autozone. Now it will auto connect and turn on only when the key is switched to acc position. Also i just hid the extra socket under the dash.
