Hello Everyone,

I ordered a set of these towing mirrors and they have some LED clearance lights that need to be wired. I've seen where they are ran off the reverse lights but I'm thinking about running off a switch so I can control when they are on and off.

Any other options for wiring these?

I think the lights will draw less than amp so I plan on running through a switch without a relay to keep it simple. Bad or good idea?

That's a pretty good price for them. Amazon has them for 177.

But back on topic. I was going to wire mine up for the blind spot detection. All you would really need to do if you are going to wire it to a switch is find a 12+ volt ignition wire and the door itself should be a ground.

M3Kanic thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, i got an email today that said they only had one set of those mirrors left and the glass was damaged, so that fell through. Second time something like that has happened in 2 weeks.

I ended up ordering the paint to match smoked signal only set from https://boostautoparts.com/ because I ordered their dual function signal running light harness yesterday and decided with my luck recently I'll just go through 1 vendor.

Also thinking about ordering this rocker switch panel to turn the clearance lights on and off. There are some extra switches if I add some more lights or something. Thinking about putting it on the side of center console so the usb chargers are more accessible than under the dash. Probably going to wire to 12v battery wire so they can turn on when the ignition is off.

Here's a diagram I'm working on to help me visualize the wiring of the tow mirrors and rear bumper lights. I'm still not exactly sure where to tap into the reverse and running lights. Any tips are appreciated. I found some wiring diagrams on the autozone site. One mentions a light green wire in the fuse block underhood for reverse and the other a dark blue for running lights so i'm going to look there first.
