Just acquired a 2001 Yukon SLT, Non-Bose with Factory Sub, On-star. Feels good to be a member of this forum.

Just installed a Pioneer Receiver and used a wiring harness adapter. I found a second adapter while doing the install that contains 9 pins (was told this is for onstar). A buddy told me that the pink wire is for the stock amps, so I spliced this wire to the blue wire on the receiver harness.

I have a couple questions, if you guys don't mind chiming in:

(1) what are the other 8 wires for?

(2) can I get the rear seat audio controls working with an aftermarket receiver?

Ok, so I don't think I lost anything by disconnecting the 9 pin harness. Still have my door chimes. Is there anything in this harness that I'm not aware of (I think it's onstar and the factory amp remote turn on only?)

it usually goes to the tape deck in the console below the radio. your truck may or may not have the tape deck.

Thanks. Does anyone know if it's possible to keep the rear seat Audio for told intact w an aftermarket head unit?
