So after going through the trouble of replacing the bushings (upper and lower hinges) we found that there is play on the door side of the upper hinge, and there's not a bushing in that location. The wear is on the metal, and it's allowing the door to move up and down at the back edge. I've been looking online and I've found replacement hinges, but my issue is that they are all bolt-on, and it doesn't look like mine is bolt-on, unless the bolts are accessed from inside the door (by taking off the inner panel). Can somebody shed some light on this? Do my eyes and my bodyman father-in-law deceive me? Or are we going to have to drill holes to mount it?
The rattling going over bumps is annoying. That's why I'm looking for a fix. If it was just sagging I'd live with it lol. My father-in-law (the one with the skills) is coming next week and I'd like to have everything lined up to fix it if I can.
edit: it's a 99 model year, as in my sig. In case there were year-over-year changes with the hinges lol.
